The Encounter (2010)

This is a movie that speaks to me whenever I watch it.

“The Encounter” shows you how much God loves you, how much He wants you, how much He knows about you and most importantly how easy it is for you to reach Him.

I’m a lover of Christ and “correct/make sense” christian movies.

THE ENCOUNTER is about the journey of 5 different people who got stranded on the way due to the road closure and are forced to get to a nearby diner to wait till the road opens up. Here they come in contact with the owner of the dinner who claims he is Jesus and this man tells them about the love of God towards each and every one of them and their deepest darkest secrets.

Find healing, love and believe in the supremacy of God through this movie and ENJOY!!!.

The Jealous Rain

I’m loving this. Love Thursday

Brave and Reckless

A jealous rain

fell from the envious sky

soaked your clothes

translucent

caressed your hair

like a lover

left lingering droplets on your eyelashes

that sparkled in the low light

traced your cheek bones

like a sculptor

bathed your skin

warm

but could not penetrate the surface

and reach your heart

where I live

ABOUT LAST NIGHT (THE NICE GUYS)

I watched this movie just yesterday and it lifted my spirit.

I wasn’t expecting it to be interesting. The title just didn’t do it for me. “THE NICE GUYS”  I don’t know why. Even after watching the movie, I still don’t know why it’s named “the nice guys”. Content is way more interesting than the title. Even when I saw the ad I wasn’t really interested.

Anyways, I’m glad I watched it. Its an action movie and the fact that it has a touch of humour here and there made me love it more…. Awesome cast too. I love the little girl the most.. (I just love smart kids)..

This movie would definitely be on the next list of movies that makes you happy. If you haven’t seen it, you should. I’ll rate it a 9 (cos I’m happy).

Cast Includes: RUSSELL CROWE, RYAN GOSLING, ANGOURIE RICE, MATT BOMER etc.

WAY BACK WEDNESDAY

Let me hashtag #moviesthatmadeyoucry first.

So, I’m a Cryer,  I can cry for a living. Lol…

So many movies have made so many people cry.

I’ve cried for a seasonal movie  (Grey’s Anatomy). Thanks to Shonda Rhimes. I love her like crazy. Some of the single movies that brought tears to my eyes and really touched my heart and soul are, 3 idiots, Guzaarish, and of course Titanic, to mention a few.

And tonight’s movie is gonna be TITANIC.

I dont think there is anyone who never watched titanic. Lol. So, I’ll keep this post as short as possible.

Titanic is a 1997 movie. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio (Jack Dawson), Kate Winslet (Rose Dewitt Bukater), Gloria Stuart (old Rose) and many others. Directed and Written by James Cameron.

This movie is about two people that fell in love on a ship (Titanic), but unfortunately the ship sank on its first, last and only voyage, which led to the death of Jack and many others, leaving poor old rose shattered.

So much emotions, so much risks, so much love, so much affection, only for it to last a few days.

What is more painful than the love of your life dying beside you?. But really, Jack should have just gotten something to stay on or shared with Rose.

Quote from the movie- “you jump, I jump”, “promise me you’ll never let go”

Favourite Scene – When Jack drew Rose naked wearing only the pendant.

CONTROL (2007) (DRAMA)

controlIan Curtis (Sam Riley, a sad introvert, who sings in a band, meets a girl named Debbie, whom he marries right away and later on become parents. Even at that, their relationship seems to go down the drain causing him to have an affair with a girl, whom he met during one of his gigs.

The pressure from his marriage, his relationship with the new girl, his epilepsy and the pressure from the popularity of his band becomes too much for him to control.

Director – Anton Corbijn

TWO MOVIES TUESDAY

Remember the old vs new movies?

Okay, so, Two Moves Tuesday is mainly two movies that are similar, either in cast or title or story line.

Today’s movies will be Barber’s Shop; The next cut (2016) and Beauty Shop (2005).

Barber’s shop is about the shop owners and customers trying to save their community from youth gangs. On the other hand,  beauty shop is all about trying to save the shop from being closed down and turned into a park.

These two movie tho, errrn. They really didn’t do it for me. ‘Cause of the cast, I expected something really interesting. But then the story line was just bleh. The comedy wasn’t as hilarious as i expected. I feel its too great a cast to do something really “what’s the word” i don’t want to use “lame”.

Well, I’m trashing these two movies. I’ll give both a 5 out of 10.

Which “two movies” didn’t do it for you?
